Self-portrait of a young girl wearing a dress with some floral patterns.

Title: Orange Flowers

In my portrait, the pattern I chose represents flowers because flowers are very beautiful, colorful, and can represent feeling. I chose to use the two colors green and orange because green represents the stem and the orange represents the petal. The sleeve represents the leaves on the stem. Orange flowers can symbolize excitement, joy, and passion. My portrait shows the joy and excitement about me.

What I love about Gio Swaby’s portraits is that she leaves loose thread to represent imperfection so then people can see her portraits are not perfect. In her portrait, she uses her family and friends as inspiration. I was inspired by my grandma because she loves flowers. Flowers represent my grandma. I dedicate this portrait to my grandma—she loves flowers and plants.
